Locally-owned Parts Life, Inc. is proud to congratulate Lisa Mariani, engineering intern for the company, on her acceptance into the PhD program at the University of Pennsylvania Department of Mechanical Engineering and Applied Mechanics. Lisa received the John Henry Towne fellowship for the 2014-2015 academic year. Her research area will be in material mechanics, particularly nanomaterial mechanics.

The Parts Life team was honored to be invited to take part in the Commissioning of the USS Somerset on Saturday, March 1, 2014. “The naval commissioning ceremony has been a tradition of navies since 1775. It is the most significant event in the life of a ship. The commissioning is the final event in the triad that brings a ship to life and marks the entrance of a man-of-war into the naval forces of her nation.”

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Burlington, Camden, and Gloucester Counties organized the event to raise funds that will help to cover daily operational costs. In addition to tasting food from local area restaurants, this event featured a dessert station, cash bar, auctions, and networking opportunities.
