Both organization's quality management systems (QMS) are certified to ISO 9001 and AS9001D, two globally recognized quality standards that guide how we manage processes, reduce risks, and meet the demands of the aerospace and defense industries.
ISO 9001 is the globally recognized standard for quality management systems. It provides a framework for organizations to consistently deliver products and services that meet customer and regulatory requirements, while also enhancing customer satisfaction and driving continuous improvement. It establishes core principles such as customer focus, leadership accountability, process standardization, and continuous improvement. By implementing ISO 9001, both Parts Life and DeVal ensure internal consistency, reduce variability, and support cross-functional alignment. It allows both companies to scale operations efficiently while maintaining a strong commitment to quality at every level.
AS9100D is a quality management standard developed specifically for aviation, space, and defense organizations. It builds on the general quality principles of ISO 9001, but introduces industry-specific requirements for aerospace and defense applications, designed to prevent failures in mission-critical environments. These include strict process control, traceability, risk management, and safeguards against nonconforming and counterfeit parts. The most significant difference between the standards is that organizations in any industry can use ISO 9001, whereas AS9100D is specifically designed for the aerospace sector.

In addition, Parts Life, Inc. is certified to AS9100D 8.3, the design and development clause within the AS9100D QMS. This section outlines how design and development must be managed to ensure quality from concept to completion. Whether reverse engineering legacy components or developing value-added engineered solutions for sustainment and lifecycle extension, our team follows defined stages of planning, review, validation, and change control. Clause 8.3 requires that risks are identified early, inputs are clearly understood, and all outputs are verified before production begins. It also ensures that any design changes are fully reviewed, documented, and approved.

Parts Life, Inc. is a certified AS9100D engineering service provider, manufacturer, and alternate source supplier for DMSMS and obsolete replacement components on military systems and subsystems. Our value-added reverse engineering processes address missing or incomplete technical data needed prior to manufacturing. Services, such as R.O.P.E.® (Rapid Obsolescence Planning and Execution) and 5R® (Reverse Engineering, Remanufacturing, Recertify, Repair, Replicate) deliver manufacturable technical data with source approval to manufacture replacement parts. In our Prototype Integration Facility, parts and components are manufactured and tested for form, fit, and function to ensure each piece meets and surpasses OEM requirements.
